DIN 17175 is a German standard for seamless and welded steel tubes used in high-temperature applications. The standard specifies requirements for tubes used in industries like power plants, chemical plants, and boiler manufacturing, particularly where the tubes are exposed to high temperatures and pressures.

 

13CrMo44 refers to a specific grade of steel within that standard:

  • 13: Indicates the main alloying element, which is Chromium (Cr), typically around 1.5%–2.5%. Chromium improves the material's resistance to oxidation and corrosion, especially at elevated temperatures.

  • Cr: Stands for Chromium, as mentioned above.

  • Mo: Refers to Molybdenum, which is added to improve high-temperature strength and resistance to creep.

  • 44: Refers to the material’s nominal carbon content, which is around 0.44%.

 

Key properties of 13CrMo44 steel tube:

  • High temperature resistance: Suitable for applications in high-pressure systems and environments with temperatures up to 580°C (1076°F).
